The ACT Policing Exhibit Management Centre (including Firearms Registry) at 86 Vicars Street Mitchell is open by appointment only.

To maintain a safe Covid-free environment:

All firearms licence applications (including renewals) must make an appointment between 8am and 1pm Monday-Friday by calling (02) 5126 9076 or emailing [email protected]

Firearms Registry paperwork other than licence or permit applications can be sent to the registry by email or conventional mail. The mailing address is:

Members of the public are asked to be on time for any appointments to ensure staff can assist as many people as possible in the time available and to follow the instructions of signage and staff. Please ensure you are wearing a face mask, sanitize your hands, check in using the check in CBR app and observe the social distancing rule when in or around the registry. Covid-capacity of the EMC foyer is 4 people.

The Exhibit Management Centre (EMC) is a secure storage facility used by ACT Policing to preserve property and exhibits. It houses recovered property and also evidentiary items.

If you have reported your items lost or stolen to ACT Policing and they have advised you the items have been recovered, please contact the EMC on 02 5126 9074 to collect your goods.

The EMC is open on weekdays from 08:00 to 16:00 and is located at 86 Vicars Street, Mitchell.

What do I need to bring to collect my property?

Please have your licence or another form of identification. If you have a police reference number please have that ready. Fees and charges may apply.

How do I claim my property?

You must be clearly able to identify property before it will be released to you. Please bring any receipts, serial numbers or documentation you have. Consider if your item has any distinguishing features that will assist in identification.
