Police seek witnesses to theft from graves

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to the theft of plaques from grave sites at the Hall cemetery.
Around 9am yesterday (Wednesday, April 25) police attended the Hall Cemetery following a report that plaques had been removed from grave sites.
While in attendance police identified a number of plaques were missing. Police estimate 46 plaques were removed from a number of grave sites.
Also stolen from a grave site was a large eagle, approximately one and a half metres high.
Police believe the theft occurred between Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 25 2012.
Police urge anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the cemetery to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
